So often our skies are filled with light pollution. We miss the beauty that lies beyond the street lights. However, there are points in the OBX that allow for a better view.
Where we stayed in Hatteras, gave us the privilege of witnessing some of this natural beauty. The 180 degree view from the house allowed us to see for miles.
Nightly, we sat out on the deck enjoying the stars. However, this particular photo captured a faraway storm. The night sky would get dark and then occasionally a blip of light would be seen across the horizon.
It’s a reminder that natural beauty exists, but sometimes we have to sit still long enough to appreciate it. Our lives fly by at an incredible speed, yet we miss so much when we don’t take time to “breathe.”
Welcome to “midnight” in Avalon, NJ. The beach in Avalon is beautiful at all times of the day, and throughout the seasons. This is one of our most traveled locations.
Avalon is an upscale area; located near Cape May, Stone Harbor and Sea Isle City. This area is perfect for those looking to get a way from the bustling boardwalk. You’ll find this locale only has about two businesses on the actual boardwalk. However, you can always do a night in Ocean City or Wildwood, if you’re looking for carnival rides or boardwalk shops.
Our favorite points in Avalon include the jetty, Avalon Marina, and the library. Not too far from Avalon (in Cape May) is one of our favorite food places to visit, The Lobster House. But, a trip to Avalon isn’t complete without picking up one of our household staples, “Hank’s hot sauce,” which has quickly grown to number 1 in our minds. The best price can be found in Sea Isle City at Hank’s eatery.
Avalon is a beautiful area, surrounded by several lovely towns. You’ll find quaint shops, great food and a breathtaking beach.
